Teaching

Qualifications:
Lucy was awarded a Foundation Scholarship to attend the Royal College of Music, London, U.K. for her Bachelor of Music Honours Degree and in her 3rd year won the United Kingdom Harp Association prize. In her final year, she took her final recital a term early and embarked on an exchange program to the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Australia. Harp Hire:
If you’re interested in giving the harp a go, its easy! Lucy has several small beginner lever harps that you can hire for a very reasonable fee. This gives you the chance to try it out, enjoy making beautiful sounds and see if its for you, before investing in your own instrument.

Lucy has helped students achieve high distinctions through the AMEB grade exam system and to successfully prepare for school scholarship awards. She has been invited on several occasions to tutor for the Australian Youth Orchestra’s National Music Camp and also for AYO Young Symphonists. Lucy has also tutored the harpists in QLD’s MOST (Musically Outstanding STudents) residential program.

Alexander Technique - what’s that?
It’s an educational Technique that improves co-ordination and poise in everyday living.

Its application - the development of better balance through a more conscious relationship of the mind-body connection - brings about an invaluable source of physical freedom when navigating your musical instrument and aids the calm clarity of thought which is so vital to learning. It’s a Technique tried and trusted by musicians the world over and taught in all the leading musical institutions worldwide.

Lucy has been a qualified professional teaching member of the society Alexander Technique Education since 2008.
